Description

Rough work in progress of my take on a female Team Fortress 2 team. My guidelines were to keep the new characters different from each other in appearance and personality, to keep them different from the original characters in the same ways, but to also keep them easily identifiable. I feel like I broke one of those rules with the Pyro, Medic, and Engineer, but I'm okay with that for now.

Time to meet the team:

The Soldier: a '20s or '30s themed aviator. Unnervingly cheerful in her eagerness to destroy the other team. Perhaps the only character in TF2 who is consistently happy in a not-sadistic way.

The Pyro: essentially the same Pyro we already know and love, a masked fire-obsessed madwoman.

The Sniper: an American Western gunslinger and sharpshooter.

The Spy: a Russian heiress-turned-thief who pulls heists purely for the challenge, rather than the loot. Constantly disappointed at the mundane easiness of her job.

The Heavy Weapons Girl: a burly Scandinavian, obsessed with opera, who goes into battle in theatrical valkyrie garb.

The Demowoman: a Gypsy demolitions specialist. Pretty similar to current Demoman in terms of affinity for high explosives.

The Medic: a terrifying world-weary 55-year-old, and always in a fould mood. She has more of a laboratory themed garb than male Medic does.

The Scout: a petulant 14-year-old girl. Also a borderline sociopath. She's somewhat feared by the rest of the team due to the emotionless way she takes her bat to the enemy.

The Engineer: a mature and haughty doctor of engineering.

The Heavy, Pyro, Medic, Demo, and Sniper all have similar body shapes or clothing to their male counterparts, which maintain their recognizable silhouettes. The other classes use body language for identification. For example, even though the Spy is a voluptuous cat-suited woman instead of a slender business-suited man, the Spy's revolver-holding stance is distinctive enough that she can't be mistaken for anything else.

I feel like I somewhat failed to connect Lady Engineer from Man Engineer; she'll probably be the only character I rework in the future.
